On par with my recent interest in Althusser, here is a good, short report on his much-discussed personal life. Dated 1992, it was written around the time of Althusser’s posthumous autobiography The Future Lasts Forever. As the author points out, perhaps what’s most ironic (or even fitting) about his life is that the philosopher who persistently argued against the notion of the human subject or the individual was himself practically erased from any form of legal stature under French law after murdering his wife.
