New Piece on Isaiah Berlin

Last year on this blog I wrote a post titled “Isaiah Berlin – sloppy thinker?” where I mentioned the contradiction between Berlin’s vast array of knowledge and his often superficial insight.

I have now expanded some of my ideas about Berlin into a short essay for Dissent. My goal here was to highlight Berlin’s questionable and biased reading of French and German philosophy, which I argue stems from his own background in analytic philosophy that he acquired as a student at Oxford.
